Free printable Christmas gift tags
The short answer
Pick a set, open the PDF for your paper size, print at 100% and cut on the grey dashed lines.
Each sheet holds eight different tags: two round tags, two tall tags and two flags with a hole for ribbon, and two square tags to use as stickers. Every tag has blank To and From lines, so you write the names by hand.
Which set matches your wrapping paper?
Each set is drawn in the colours of a band on our wrapping paper wall. Open the PDF for the paper in your printer: US Letter, or A4 in the UK, Europe and most other countries.

Open the PDF and choose your printer. Set the scale to 100% or Actual size, and turn off Fit to page, Shrink and borderless printing. Print on one side, in colour.
Before you cut, measure the 25 mm ruler at the bottom of the sheet. If it is longer or shorter, the printer changed the scale. Fix the setting and print again.
What paper should you use for gift tags?
Use matte white card of 160 to 220 gsm, about 60 to 80 lb cover, if your printer takes it. Your printer's manual says how thick a card it can feed. Plain paper is fine for tags you tape flat on a box.
The kraft and vintage sets print their paper colour, so they need white card too. For the square tags as stickers, print on a full sheet of sticker paper with no precut labels, then cut the squares yourself.
How do you cut and hang the tags?
- Cut on the outer grey dashed line. The coloured frame inside it is part of the design, and the white edge between them hides a cut that wanders.
- Punch the small dashed circle with a 3 mm (1/8 in) hole punch. The ring around it is only drawn on.
- Thread twine, thin ribbon or string through the hole and tie it to the ribbon on the gift.
- Stick a square tag straight onto the paper, or tape a card one flat on the box.
Does every printer work?
Yes, any home colour printer works. Every tag sits at least 12 mm, about half an inch, from the edge of the sheet, so you never need borderless printing. The gold in the Quiet Gold set is a printed colour, not foil. Colours look a little different from one printer and paper to the next.
Can you print the tags more than once?
Yes. Print as many sheets as you need for your own gifts. The To and From lines stay blank in every file, and you do not need to sign up or give an email address.
Who made these tags?
GiftExperts drew every tag for this page. The lettering is set in Alegreya by Huerta Tipográfica and Google Sans Flex by Google, both under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. In the PDFs the letters are shapes, so no font file is needed to print them.
