Affiliate disclosure

We earn a commission when you buy through most of our shop links, and some English pages show ads. You pay the same price. We don't sell anything ourselves: you buy from the shop, and the shop sets the price.

Shop links

Most shop buttons are affiliate links. They name the shop and end with an asterisk, for example “View at amazon.com*”. If you buy through one, the shop may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. Some picks link to shops that pay us nothing: their button has no asterisk and the card says “No commission”. Every page with shop links says so before its first shop link.

How picks are chosen

Earning a commission is not a requirement: a gift can be on a list even when no shop pays us for it. The commission rate plays no part in the order. Nobody can pay for a place.

Ads

Some English pages show ads from Mediavine, labelled “Advertisement” and never next to a shop button. Pages in other languages have no ads. Advertisers have no say in our lists.
