How do I give a PS5 game as a present?
A disc case is thin and light. Tuck it inside a bigger box so the shape is a surprise, then follow our box wrapping steps.
For a birthday, a second DualSense lets a friend join the first game straight away.

What to know before you buy
PS4 game discs can't be used with the PS5 Digital Edition; our picks come on disc, so choose a PS5 with a disc drive. The overwhelming majority of PS4 games play on PS5 (PS4 discs need a PS5 with a disc drive). PS5 parental controls set the age level for games, play time and a monthly spending limit, on the console, in the PlayStation Family app or on the web. Most PS5 games need a paid PlayStation Plus subscription to play online with others; some games don't, and PlayStation Store says which.
Other consoles? Which one to give ›
Facts from the maker's pages, checked 2026-10-12.
Will a PS5 disc play on every PS5?
No. The Digital Edition has no disc drive, and neither does the PS5 Pro unless a drive was added. Ask which model they have before you buy a disc.
Do PS4 games work on a PS5?
Most PS4 discs play on a PS5 with a drive.
Is PlayStation Plus needed to play these games?
Only for playing with friends over the internet. Every game here can be played alone or on one sofa without it.
What PS5 game suits a 10-year-old?
Look for the ESRB E10+ mark and a bright adventure. Astro Bot and Sackboy are good first picks for that age.
Why is there no NBA 2K or EA FC here?
Those games sell paid packs of players. We pick sports and racing games you buy once.
